Bio
My
father was a photographer in Chicago. When I was a child I was constantly playing
with his camera bag. I started making my
own photographic images when I was 14. I
graduated from Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois in 1992 with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Photography. I then ran my own
freelance business doing events and portraits until moving to New York to
attend the School of Visual Arts. I
graduated from SVA in 1998 with an MFA in Photography. I moved back to the Midwest in 2000 and taught
at Columbia College. In 2002 I married
and changed my name from Maureen McInerney to Maureen
Mleczewski. I have since taught
Photography at Kalamazoo Valley Community College in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Currently I am teaching Photography at
Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan.
